After School Matters

Gately Park Donor & Mural Wall

Expanding their impact on Chicago teens, After School Matters (ASM) opened its Gately Park facility in 2021 in Chicago's Pullman Neighborhood. The facility provides art and dance studios, music rooms, culinary spaces, tech labs, and a rooftop garden where teens can learn and grow.

Bark worked with ASM to design building signage, recognizing the donors that made the facility possible, highlighting the organization’s reach throughout the city, and paying homage to the neighborhood and Chicago’s youth.

Donor Wall

#TeensMATTER. Our city’s youth are our city’s future. ASM’s programming and facilities are made possible by the donors who believe in the endless possibilities of our teens and city.

The donor wall’s dimensional shapes and arrow exemplify the energy and promise of ASM and its teens.

Mural Wall

As you enter Gately Park, you’re met with a 30′ × 60′ mural that runs along the staircase and sits adjacent to the donor wall. The lower level of the mural recognizes the history of the neighborhood, while the upper level is a reminder of the boundless potential of our teens. Always Learning. Always Creating.

Map Installation

Over the last 30 years, ASM has expanded its program locations from downtown to the near north, northwest, and south sides of the city. We created this updatable map to identify ASM’s reach throughout Chicago, showing its dedicated buildings, as well as all program.
