Youth Guidance creates and implements school-based programs in eight cities across the country, enabling students to succeed in school and in life. Best known for their BAM (Becoming a Man) and WOW (Working on Womanhood) programs, Bark worked with Youth Guidance to create a system of materials, customized to each city and its offerings, to better articulate the breadth of programming and impact Youth Guidance has been providing students for over 100 years.
From Boston, to Chicago, to Los Angeles, each city offers slightly different programming. Customized brochures were developed for each city to showcase their specific offerings and impact.
To ensure a connection between students and their location’s unique environment, individual photoshoots were organized in each city. Bark initially worked with a Chicago-based photographer to establish the artistic direction for the project. These efforts set the tone for the other cities, where we consulted with each locally-based photographer.
Every brochure contained a pocket for one-pagers that provide additional information on programs and their impact. These inserts were also customized for each city, sharing location-specific information.
Building off our momentum from the city brochures, Bark helped Youth Guidance re-envision their annual report, sharing the story of their expanding impact across the country. We utilized images from our city photoshoots and pulled in design elements to help further the updated brand.
Large statistics were used to help underscore the commitment of the organization and supporters, positively affecting over 14,000 youth and families—the most in Youth Guidance’s history.
Student stories and quotes, from different cities, share how their lives have changed thanks to Youth Guidance programs and supporters. Highlights included a record-breaking fundraising Gala, and a visit from former First Lady Michelle Obama who took part in a WOW Circle in Chicago.
