Centennial Anniversary Identity

2021 marked 100 years of the Field Museum’s historic home on Chicago’s lakefront. For the past century the iconic building has welcomed visitors from around the world. We had the privilege to work with the Museum and create a centennial anniversary identity and materials to celebrate this historic milestone.

Centennial Anniversary Identity

For the past century, the Field Museum has welcomed nearly 137 million visitors from around the world to its lakefront home. Today, the Museum houses a collection of 40 million objects and specimens and a community of more than 140 scientists. 

The Centennial Anniversary identity celebrates a century of research, conservation, and public learning.

Pictured below is opening day, May 1921.

Logomark

The primary logo uses an abbreviated silhouette of the Museum’s unmistakable façade. The numbers “100” create the pillars and add to the architectural look and feel of the logomark. 

The logo was created to be flexible so it can pair with the Field logo, as well as sit on images to echo the shape of the full building.

Anniversary materials utilized images to help show the history of the building. From recognition opportunities to then and now images, the building provides much to celebrate.
